    Timed Trials signups are open

Please see the website --> Swim Meets --> Timed Trials for details

You can also check out website --> Team Info --> Volunteers for descriptions. We encourage ALL NEW PARENTS to work at least 1 shift of Timed Trials so that you can get a feel for timing, ready bench, or runner (or officiating).

Timed Trial signups will close Wed, Apr 22 @ midnight.

    From the website:

4.17.26 Meet Entry & Job Signup are closed. Timed Trials ("mock" meets) serve to give new swimmers and volunteers a feel for an actual Dual Meet. Plus, all swimmers must have a Timed Trial time in order to participate in any Dual Meets during the season. We will have all volunteer positions represented, including officials, but NO disqualifications will be registered at this meet. We just need a time to record so our swimmers can compete against other teams. A swimmer MUST have a time in order to enter an event for any of our meets. This is a good chance for volunteers to get practice in their positions before the added pressure of another team. 2026: new parents, please sign up to work at the Timed Trials so you can get a feel for it. Job descriptions are listed in-app.

SwimTopia app (you can do everything listed with the free version). All meet signup & volunteering is done thru Swimtopia.

Click the “Timed Trials” meet, click "Meet Signup" → “edit” → dropdown menu (for each swimmer). Choose “attending this meet” or “not attending this meet.” Even if not attending, please login & choose "not attending" -- this helps us plan.

    • We do not offer relays, IMs, or 100s in the Timed Trials (the template we used is non-editable, so these will still show upon signup).
    • Swimmers compete by age group:
      • 10&U - enter 25 yard events (no 50s or IMs)
      • 11+ - enter 50 yard events (no 100s or IMs)
    • Beginners: enter in free & back
    • Intermediate: enter free & back; if comfortable, enter breast & fly
    • Advanced: enter in all events
    • If you receive an error message "Has the coach approved this swimmer's entry into this event?," click "Yes, proceed" {It just means you are a new swimmer, or you've moved from 9-10 to 11-12 since last season}.

If you cannot attend, please login to Swimtopia, click the “Timed Trials” meet, click "Meet Signup" → “edit” → dropdown menu (for each swimmer). Choose “not attending this meet.” We have 2 weeks between the Timed Trials & our May 9 meet to obtain a time during practices for any events they would possibly swim during the dual meet. More on this after the Timed Trials, but this will give us a list of make-ups.

Volunteering: Click the “Timed Trials” meet, click "Job SignUp" → “Sign up for Jobs.” Click the checkbox next to your job, scroll down & SAVE.

    • NEW PARENTS: please sign up to work for Timed Trials. It gives us a chance to "train" you for timing, ready bench, or runner before the added pressure of a meet (when times "count")
    • You will only be allowed to sign up for what you are qualified for (for example, you will not be able to sign up for computer, SNT, STR, Ref, COC if you have not been NWAL certified).
    • We always need timers (plus a head timer per shift) and ready bench. Since we do not distribute ribbons for the Timed Trials, there will be no Awards position. We will only be asking for 2 timers/lane instead of 3/lane for the Timed Trials.
    • See the Swim Meets → Volunteer tab for more info about individual jobs.

To bring: There will be no concession stand for the Mock Meet. Please be sure to bring snacks / water for your family. Bring a bag chair / canopy / blanket. We try to keep the bleachers as come-and-go seating, so that you can watch your swimmer and move along, giving a chance to another parent/grand to see their swimmer. We are NOT allowed to set up chairs in the hallways anymore (fire code). Help us keep the walking path clear. Since we are limited with space, we encourage parents to bring canopies / blankets / chairs to set up outside (on the SE side of BBAC). We have a speaker system to help us call out which events should be at the ready benches. Timed Trials run much quicker than dual meets, so keep your ears open!

    Download SwimTopia app.

Print the heat sheet. We will not have any for sale at the meet.

All officials will be in white shirts & blue shorts / pants, but we have lots of returning swim parents that can give advice as well!

Bring a marker. If you are new to competitive swimming, ask a returning swim family to show you how to “get marked.” Marking the kids arms (or legs, depending on how many events they swim in a meet) helps kids remember what they are swimming and also helps the ready bench volunteers place swimmers correctly. (Rubbing alcohol helps remove it). (R = race / event; H = heat; L = lane). An example:
