2025 Dolphins Season schedule & stuff
Hello Dolphins,
After our Board meeting, we have decided on some key dates. For those of you who "don't want to know how the stadium is built" and "just want to go to the game", this email is as short & sweet as I get. We'll get into details after registration.
Important dates:
- Sat, Mar 1 -- I will open ONLINE registration (remember, online & in-person uses the same system). If you are using a credit card, it must be done in the system. Board members cannot take a credit card, only cash & check. No Venmo.
- Thurs, Mar 6 -- In-Person Registration (4:30-6:30pm). We will have a general information table (to ask questions); small # of computers for registration; suit try- ons; cash & check payment table. NO MERCHANDISE WILL BE SOLD TONIGHT. Caps, suits, goggles, hopefully shirts, etc will be available during the 1st week of practice (& possibly Meet the Coach night). We will also have access to 1 lane if you need to see if your interested swimmer can swim 1 length of the pool.
- Thurs, Mar 27 @ 4:30pm -- Meet the Coaches night. An opportunity to hear from coaches & board members; ask questions; bring payments (cash & check).
- NWAL still hasn't been able to get our meet schedule on the website, so I'll do a little something today so that everyone knows dates.
- Dues MUST be paid by the 1st day of practice (Mon, Mar 31)
We will not be advertising again this year. Cutting the flyer distribution saved $500 in our budget last year, & we still had people on a waiting list. WORD OF MOUTH -- if you have families that you think would be a good addition, invite them.
Budget:
- Registration will be $145 per swimmer, with a $5 discount per additional family swimmer. Registration includes practice time pool use, 1 cap, 1 shirt, dual & divisional meet dues, end of year party. Team suits, goggles, additional team shirts are available for additional cost.
- We will discuss sponsorships mid-March.
- We have also discussed a 50/50 raffle fundraiser for this year.
Volunteering:
- Without volunteers, we CAN'T run a meet. "Many hands make light work."
- Minimum volunteer shifts has been raised to 3 shifts per family for the season.
- Remember, this is a competitive swim team not swim lessons. You must compete in a minimum of 2 meets. If you don't plan to compete, please don't sign up. I had a waiting list last year of kids that didn't get to join. We max out at 150.
Brenham.swimtopia.com & these emails ([email protected]) will be our main form of communication. We also have a Facebook page.
For Dolphins Board,
Amber Allen, President
