RELAY CHECK-IN POLICY
We had too much confusion during our 1st meet with regard to relays (I’m hoping because it was a 1st meet). Relay swimmers MUST check-in at warm-ups in order to swim those relays. We had 5-6 swimmers that were not at warm-ups. We spent a large portion of time finding replacements, only for the original relay swimmers to show up at the ready bench. That is unfair to teammates.
The coaches will be on deck during warm-ups. At away meets, at least one coach will be at the coach’s canopy before/after. At home meets, either the bleachers or the coaches area on the opposite side of the pool. If relay swimmers do not check in with the coaches 15 minutes after warm-ups start, we will start assigning the alternates to fill that position. Once alternates are found, the original (late) relay swimmer will not be able to swim the relay.
