1st Dual Meet of 2024: Huntsville Lakers @ Brenham Dolphins

Sat, May 4th @ 6am: Meet entry & job sign-up opens

• Download Swimtopia app. The free version allows you to easily sign up for meet entries & jobs.
• Swimmers may enter up to 3 individual events, 1 freestyle relay, and 1 medley relay
• For relays, indicate if your swimmer is willing to swim relays. For those entered, we are allowed to make up to 3 relay teams per age group (per gender). These options will appear:
  • Available for all relays
  • Arriving late, not available for early relays
  • Leaving early, not available for late relays
  • Not available for any relays
• See website, Swim Meets → Dual Meets tab for Order of Events
• Remember, you must swim at least 2 dual meets to be eligible to swim at Divisionals.
• MEET ENTRIES DUE BY WEDNESDAY @ MIDNIGHT. I can not force anyone into the meet after this time. As the hosting team, I have to prep our entries & merge Huntsville’s entries as well; test run it; print heat sheets for officials & email out to both teams by Friday.
• If you ARE NOT swimming in the meet, please log in & choose NOT ATTENDING. This helps our back-office planning of the meet.
• Please sign up for volunteering jobs. Remember, you must work at least 2 shifts per season.
• Note: there is a “Notes to the Coach section.” If you could send me an email instead, it’s easier for me to either forward the message to Coach or take care of it & check off my To Do List. Thx!

Fri, May 10th: I will email heat sheets & lane assignments (please print if you want a hard copy – there will be none for sale). I will also publish heat sheets to Swimtopia (the paid part of the app).

Sat, May 11th, 2024 – MEET DAY

• 6:45am suggested arrival time @ BBAC (claim your canopy spot & unload, etc)
• 7:15-7:45 am home-team warm-ups
• 7:45-8:15 am away-team warm-ups

• 8:00am Timers Mtg: 1st & 2nd shift volunteers meet in the hallway near the locker rooms - brief explanation & Q&A
• 8:15am Officials Mtg: 1st & 2nd shift SNTs & STRs meet on deck by computer table after Timer’s Mtg
• 8:15am Computer & Runner/Awards: 1st & 2nd shift volunteers check-in with Amber @ computer table (left side of blocks)
• 8:15am Ready bench: 1st & 2nd shift volunteers check in with Lauren @ ready bench (far end of pool, outside)
• 8:30am Meet starts (when shift 1 volunteers are in place; National Anthem)
• Event 41: shift 2 volunteering starts

Meet-Specific Info:

• BBAC will be hosting a concession stand (I’ll post a menu when I have one – usually breakfast tacos, coffee, water, sports drinks, etc).
• Due to the ongoing locker room renovation, we have rented 10 port-o-potties for the meet. They will be located on the SE side of BBAC, near Boys & Girls Club. THANK OUR SPONSORS & BE A PATRON OF THEIR BUSINESSES!!! We would have had to cancel this meet without their donations. (Remember your flip flops!)
