    I know in this horrible, icy weather we're experiencing, you're all thinking about the upcoming Dolphins season right? No? Just me? Alright...

    BRENHAM DOLPHINS SWIM CLUB is a non-profit organization that serves up to 200 athletes aged 5-18. It is governed by the Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL). Our board of directors is composed completely of parent volunteers that work year round to ensure a smooth summer league, including season planning and effective communication with coaches, assistant coaches, and parents.

    What you’ll do: As a Head Swim Team Coach, you will create positive relationships and a safe experience for our swim team participants. Help our members improve their swimming skills with proper stroke and racing techniques and lead the swim team to success. Oversee the training of the assistant swim team coaches. Respond to member questions with the help of board members.

    Duties:


    • Develop and implement swimming training programs for individuals and groups
    • Provide instruction on proper swimming techniques and safety protocols
    • Develop fundamentals in the four competitive strokes, diving, and turns.
    • Evaluate swimmers' performance and provide feedback for improvement
    • Monitor swimmers' progress and adjust training plans as needed
    • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all swimmers
    • Collaborate with other coaches and board members to coordinate practice schedules and team activities

    Experience:


    • Previous experience as a swimming coach or instructor is preferred
    • Knowledge of different swimming strokes, techniques, and training methods
    • Familiarity with NWAL swim meet rules and regulations
    • Strong communication skills to effectively instruct and motivate swimmers
    • Ability to work with swimmers of all ages and skill levels
    • Experience working with students or in a childcare setting is a plus

    Pay: $4000 for the season, negotiable

    Schedule:



    • tryouts in March (tentative Tues, Mar 5), concurrent with in-person registration (1 evening, about 3 hrs)
    • afternoon practices in April & May (M-Th, 4-6pm) (8hrs/wk = 32hrs/mth)
    • timed trial (end of April) (3hrs)
    • morning practices in June (M-F, 7-9am) (10hrs/wk = 40hrs/mth)
    • Saturday meets May & June (5 meets, divisionals, invitationals)

    License/Certification:



    • CPR or Lifeguarding certificate
    • Willingness to obtain NWAL coaching certification
