Heads Up
Parents,
We have our Time Trial meet coming up next Saturday, April 29th. The meet will start at 8:30 AM, and warm-ups are from 7:45-8:15 AM. I would like for everyone to be there no later than 7:30 AM. We prefer everyone to sit outside leaving the bleachers for come-and-go spectating. We are also limited with our seating in the hallways and would like to leave room for anyone who is handicapped or for our seniors. Our goal is to keep the hallways as passable as possible throughout the meet.
We are not offering every event in a normal format for this meet, just the 25’s for the 10 and unders, and the 50's for the 11 and overs for each of the strokes. If you are not able to come or your child is not able to swim every event, which is normal for this Time Trial meet, then I will fill in with made-up times so that you will be able to enter your child in that event when it comes to our regular meets.
Meet entries for the Time Trial will open up this Friday, the 21st at 8:00 AM and will close by midnight on Wednesday the 26th. If your child is in the Advance group, go ahead and enter them in every event. If they are in the Intermediate group and this is not their first year, enter them in every event. If this is your child's first year on Dolphins and they are in the Intermediate group, enter them in Freestyle, Backstroke, and Butterfly. If they are in the Beginner group and they swim in lanes 4, 5, and 6, please enter them in Freestyle, Backstroke, and Butterfly. If your child swims in lanes 2 and 3, enter them in Freestyle and Backstroke. If your child is in lane 1 and you don’t think they can make the length of the pool without the assistance of fins, don’t worry about entering them in the meet at this point. I will go ahead and enter made-up time in the system so that when they are ready they will be able to enter events for a swim meet. If they can make it from one end to the other unassisted, then enter them in Freestyle.
On Thursday, April 27th I will send an email out with our entry list, our warm-up assignments, and any other important information.
Coach Coskey
