4/18/2018 New parent info / Time Trial / Photos
Dolphin parents and families -
This coming Saturday is our mock meet / time trial as well as our group / individual photography, so there is a lot of information to tell you.
I have attached two forms to this email. The first one is a photography order form from Mr. Scott Hill. Mr. Hill will be taking individual pictures on a first come, first serve basis at 7:30 am on Saturday morning. They are completely optional. We will start taking the group pictures at 8:00, and will follow this schedule:
8:00 - Ages 13 and older
8:05 - Ages 11-12
8:10 - Ages 9-10
8:15 - Ages 7-8
8:20 - Ages 6 and under
8:25 - Overall team photo (all swimmers and coaches)
We hope to finish by 8:30 so that the swimmers can begin warming up in the pool at that time. Please arrive a few minutes early so that you will be ready to take the group photos at the selected time. We ask that the swimmers wear their team swimsuit for the photo, or the suit that they will be using to compete. Even if you are unable to participate in the time trial, please consider coming up for the group and overall team photos.
At 9:00, we will begin the time trial / mock meet. Each swimmer will be swimming every event that they can currently complete. It will go in the following order:
50 yard freestyle (10 and under swimmers) / 100 yard freestyle (11 and older)
Individual Medley (100 yard for every swimmer)
The 10 and under swimmers will swim 25 yards for each stroke while the 11 and older swimmers will swim 50 yards for each stroke. Unfortunately, the meet management software to run the meet is not available to use so we will not be able to list the various events, heats and lane assignments that we typically have for a swim meet. We will need a few of our officials to help officiate as starter / SNT, and will also need several parents to help out by timing and writing down the names and times. We hope to be done by around 11 or 11:30 am.
Beginning at the same 9:00 time, we will have a few of our parents taking the officials stroke and turn class inside, so we will have a few of our parents unable to help out at the meet. It's not too late to sign up for the class if you are willing and able to officiate this year. :)
I have also attached an informational PDF file, especially for new parents. Please download it and take a few minutes to read through it. Hopefully it will answer most of your questions. Feel free to ask myself or one of the coaches or board members if you have any other questions at any time.
Last of all, I wanted to remind you of the pool being closed next week, so we will not have any practices. We will resume practice on Monday, April 30th, when swimmers will start swimming daily from Mon-Thu.
See you bright and early on Saturday morning!
